Menus

Customize menu colors & background

Match your menu to your brand: change background colors or images, header colors, price colors, and text colors — all from the Menu Details tab.

Before you start

  • A menu template open in the editor
  1. 1

    Go to Menu Details

In the menu editor, click the Menu Details tab. Scroll down to find the colors & background section — the four controls live there.
MENU EDITOR Menu DetailsItemsSide OrdersDrinks click a tab to edit that section — everything saves to the same menu
  2. 2

Pick background type: Color or Image

Choose between Color (solid background — crisp, brand-perfect) or Image (uploaded photo or pattern — richer feel). Most menus look best with a solid color; reserve Image for photo-rich brands.

    Set the background color

Click the colored swatch in the Background row to open the color picker. Type a hex value directly (e.g. #1e293b) or click the swatch to open a color wheel.

Or, if you chose Image: click Upload and pick a file. Subtle textures or tile-able patterns work better than busy photos — menu text needs to stay readable.

Tune header, price, and text colors

Three more color knobs control the foreground:

Header (h_color) — section titles ("Menu", "Sides") and the company name. Pick a high-contrast colour so headers pop.
Price (pn_h_color) — styles every price and number. Bright accents (yellow, gold, mint green) draw the eye.
Text — item names and descriptions. Aim for at least 7:1 contrast against the background for readability across a room.

    Save and preview

Click Save to commit your color choices, then click Preview on the menu tile to confirm everything reads cleanly fullscreen before you push live with UPDATE.

Tips & Common Issues

  • Dark background + light text reads best on TV displays. Avoid pure black (#000000) — #0f172a or #1e293b looks softer and less harsh.
  • Match menu colors to your brand or wall paint. Cohesion between the screen and the room makes your space feel intentional, not slapped together.
  • If you upload a busy background image, increase contrast on your text color to compensate — otherwise the menu becomes hard to read from a few tables away.
